Hello all

First post on this forum – hope you can help me.

I'm involved in putting a bid together to employ a GIS operator for a 12 month trial period to try and breathe life back into our system. (We are a Social Housing provider). I've been asked to come up with some figures for salary for such a post, and also a Job Description and Person Spec.

My trade is primarily Landscape Managegement so these questions are a bit off my map – I'm more of a GIS user who's become involved in the detail… – if anyone can give me some guidance on a reasonable salary range for a technician in the Housing sector, and send me a JD/PS which I can tweak, I would be very grateful. I appreciate that the JD will vary from role to role depending on what is required but it would be a starting point.
