You can download coverage of National Grid pylons, transmission towers, gas pipes etc in SHP format.

MAGIC contains information on numerous datasets from various agencies, many of which are available for direct download. I have downloaded various bits of Natural England data such as Local Nature Reserves and Doorstep Greens to determine if any are in proximity to our properties.
